Composed of 325,240 acres, Denali State Park- not to be confused with Denali National Park- is neighbor to both Anchorage and Fairbanks. With quite the diverse landscape, the area has everything from lowland streams to alpine tundra.
The name Denali is actually a word derived from Tanana Indians meaning “The High One.”

Although much of the mountains are covered by snow and ice, the park remains a popular place for recreational activities, such as camping and exploring.

Since Alaska sees 21 hours of possible daylight during the summers, recreational activities are pretty popular in this area.
